I had an accident as a 14 year old and my two front teeth were knocked out. I had implants put in where these teeth used to be. Ten years down the line, my face has grown and now the implants look funny as they are too small for the surrounding teeth.
What are my options? I was thinking a dentist could either remove the crowns and put new ones in, or get dental veneers attached to the crowns to make them look bigger.
You have the right idea. An implant requires a crown. The dentist has to remove the old crowns by cutting them off, they’ll take impressions for new ones, make temps for 2 weeks and cement the new permanent ones. A veneer is porcelaon just as the crowns are. Porcelain does not bond well to porcelain. Some dentists may say otherwise, but I have worked in the field for 9 years with some specially trained cosmetic dentists and they would NOT recommend it.

Dental implants coming from China are filled with toxic material including carcinogens
Dr. Craig Spodak is concerned about an increasing number of dental implants, bridges, and crowns that are being manufactured overseas in countries like China and India for about one-sixth the cost.
“This is very dangerous in my opinion and we don’t have any idea of the ramifications and we won’t for many years from now,” he says

I am planning to have dental implants,6 upper jaw and 5 lower jaw total 11….is it worth spending lots of money and time for those implants besides I’ve had gum disease before therefore lost most of my teeth and my dentist (endodontist) told me that implants may last lifetime is it true? thanks in advance
I had a partial before I got my dental implants. Hated it as food would go under it and it hurt to eat. Now I have 8 implants on top and 6 on the bottom. I have a fixed prosthesis that is attached with screws. See my avatar? That is my new smile.
Worth it? OH MY YES. Sorry to seem as if I am yelling with all the caps but that is how enthusiastic I am about my new smile. I was also told that mine will last my lifetime. The implants go into the bone and bond with the bones to become almost part of the bone itself. Your new smile will be strong and beautiful. You will be able to eat anything you want without damaging the implants however, you might want to be careful what you bite as you can damage the teeth. For example: I was told no chomping on ice. That can damage natural teeth as well. Feel free to write to me if you want.

what is the average cost of dental implants or veneers per tooth? and total prices? and what is the difference between implants and veneers if there is one?
Implants and veneers are vastly different.
An implants is a replacement for a tooth that you have missing, or are due to have extracted. A surgeon, or sometimes general dentist, will place a titanium implant (looks like a screw on the x-ray) in the bone. Then you will wait several months for the bone to fully heal around it (called osseointegration) and then you can have an abutment (kind of like a post) screwed into the implant and then a crown is fabricated and cemented over the abutment. These are both done by your general dentist. These are a fantastic and long term solution to missing teeth. They can usually cost around $3500.00 – $4000.00 once you have paid the surgeon and your dentists fee.
Veneers are a cosmetic restoration. These are small, sometimes only the thickness of a contact lense, porcelain restorations that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth. Usually only the front 6 teeth. They can give you the appearance of whiter, straighter, and sometimes bigger or smaller teeth. These are not an option for everyone and, as I said, are almost purely cosmetic. These usually run around $1000.00 per tooth. Google "Lumineers" and you will find some great information on veneers.

I need to get some dental implants, and I do not have insurance. Can anyone point me in the right Direction on what would be the best dental plan to cover as much as possible
Most of the people answering this question don’t know what they’re talking about.
I’ve had two employer sponsored dental plans and they both covered implants. Aetna and Metlife. They usually cover about 50% of the implant cost. They also cover the restorative part. Unfortunately they cap yearly coverage at around $1200.00 so if you want to use the insurance to it’s fullest advantage you have the implant done in the latter part of the year and have the crown done the following year.
If you’re purchasing insurance on your own it would probably be too expensive to take out a policy that covers implants.
If you’re employed and your employer offers a medical spending account you may want to put money away for next year and plan the
implant for after the first of the year. It’s before tax money so no taxes are paid on it and you can access the full amount after Jan 1st of next year.
