Has anyone ever gone abroad to get dental treatment?

And how was your experience. Did you get good value for money. Do you think dentist abroad are better than UK dentists?

The reason i ask is because I came across a website that offers holidays in which you go abroad to have dental treatment or other cosmetic work.

the biggest problem arises when you actually have a problem. if you are my patient then you just call me and i’ll come fix you. if you go overseas, then what are you going to do. also, it’s not like you can call the local dental society if there is a problem. it may be cheaper in the short run but over the long term you might realize some problems.

  1. A neighbor of mine has a house for the winter in Texas and she got a whole bunch of dental work done in Mexico that saved her 1000s…now how good it is or how long it will last remains to be seen…

  2. I went to Goa two years ago and met a woman who had extensive dental treatment there, she’d been a couple of times and always visited the dentist while there. She raved about how hygienic and cheap it was – apparently a lot higher standards than in UK. Goa is an excellent place to visit as well.

I have never done so and never will. Even though it may be cheaper to do so in the short term. One of the reason it may be cheaper is because of liability overhead. If you become the victim of malpractice or negligence, Your ability to recover monetary damages may be severely limited.

  5. There is no harm in traveling abroad for dental work. All that you may have to check up is the proper qualifications of the dentist and reasonable prices. Internet search like dental india tour or similar may help. Good luck.
