Where in Ne Lancashire can you obtain NHS dental treatment?

I registerd for dental treatment through NHS direct 18 months ago to be abe to obtain dental treatment, after contacting them every 6 months i am still unable to obtain NHS dental treatment and keep getting put on a waiting list.
I am suffering quite badly now with gum problems and i can not afford private dental treatment on the poor wages that i earn.
I have paid national insurance all my lworking life, could someone please offer a solution other than removing my own teeth?
Firstly let me say thankyou to those who have offered sensible answers, and i will be checking out the advice offered.
As for contacting our MP i have tried to do this with no success.
I have written to him a couple of times and never recieved a reply.perhaps it is because when he is in the constiuancy he seems to spend all his time in expensive eating establishments, proberbly at the taxpayers expense

I found it did not work going on the NHS waiting list.
I used the phone book and rang EVERY dentist myself and asked did they accept NHS patients. If they said they did but were full at the moment I kept ringing them back every week. After a few weeks I had a place with a local dentist.
Often dentists will find you a place with them if other family members are already registered with them….good luck !!

To find an NHS dentist in your area, ring the PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) number for your area.

If further problems contact your MP for advice
