Why do people go abroad to get dental treatment?The English are the best in the world, They might be a bit more expensive but you get what you pay for. I say Keep your Teeth In England

Because some countries it is practically free to get the work done. That’s why. Getting work done here in the states is awful. 8 years ago I had my teeth out and dentures made. Thoe whole process cost us about 6 grand. I doubt England can top that in cost.

There is no better place in the world for any kind of medical treatment than the good old US. And…haven’t you seen English people’s teeth? Every characterization of them shows them with giant protruding teeth. I know this is a stereotype but I swear, if you go there, you’ll see what I mean.

Its a lot more expensive here and a lot of the dentists abroad are a lot better than the ones over here. I have had a tooth removed by mistake!!! I have had a crown removed to do some work on it and it was left off too long resulting in two teeth breaking up and you think that the dental treatment here is good????????????? the dentist I had abroad was a million times better.

Look around you, the English peoples teeth are some of the worst in the world!!!!!!, its cheaper and the best dentists are definitely in other countries not in Britain. Its not easy to believe but its true, the English are not the best in the world or else you would not have the need to import doctors and dentist from other countries all the time

Because the dentists elsewhere are as well trained, yet charge infinitesmally less. Bulgaria is a popular dental tourism country for people not just from here, but all over the EU. I had dental work while living India, and came back here minus a gap between my front teeth and a white smile, for less than a tenth of the cost here. When I went in for a cleaning here, they asked if I’d had my work done in the US.

I am not from England so forgive me for dipping into the question. lol But I know in the US, people do this as well. The main reason is because the dentists are soooo expensive, also if you are not covered by your employer for dental insurance, then you have to get individual dental insurance. Individual insurance is a joke, the yearly maximums are low and you have to wait forever to get an appointment. I don’t have dental insurance but my wisdom teeth are coming in and I have to get them removed because they are causing me pain. I don’t have dental insurance and I don’t have the credit to get financing. So i’m having to pay almost $3,000 out of pocket, to get my four teeth removed. I am only a student, and I seriously don’t have that kind of money so i’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. I’m not going abroad to get the surgery done because that would probably cost a lot too for travel expense…I will just have to endure the pain until I can save up the money; however, I can certainly understand why people that need thousands and thousands of dollars worth of work done, do go abroad. What else can you do?

Ummm. English people have some of the WORST teeth in the world! Whether this is due to the QUALITY of the dentistry there or the PRICE…it truly shows.

well i can keep my teeth in england but am going to pay for them abroad ..
faster – i dont have to see my dentist after 18 month, just book the following day
cheaper – i dont have to rob a bank to pay for a normal check up
friendlier – their they actually care how you are and ‘chat’ to you, i asked my english dentist how was your weekend he didnt quite like it
and dentistry is england is not the best in the world .. am not sure who told u this !! america, thailand, india comes first .. england happens to be the worst health provider for the public in europe!

Because of the price. I’m in So Ca and know a lot of ppl who go to Mexico to do dental work because of the price. Most are good but a few had to have it redone back home so it ended up being more expensive. =)

I’m American, but I live in Italy. I got braces put on almost 2 years ago and spent around 4,000 euro. I only had to straighten out 2 teeth, too! I don’t even want to know what the price would have been if most of my teeth were crooked. I know Italians who go to Romania, Poland or other countries and can get the same job done for a 1/4 of the price….and the dentists are just as good. If I knew someone in these countries, I’d probably would have gone abroad, too!
